Our Corrib river & lake tours are a mix of relaxing flat river paddling, open water paddling, island hopping, navigating rocky and reedy channels, observing nature and enjoying stunning vistas. Kayaking allows us enviable access to explore the shallow bays around Lough Corrib. Why not book now to enjoy Menlo Pier, Keekil Pier and Lisloughrey like never before.
Our most popular tour embarks from the convenient to Galway Menlo Pier with the options of paddling downriver into the heart of Galway City, or upriver into the ‘sudden wilderness’ of Southern Lough Corrib to complete the more challenging 8km “Corribean Loop” skirting the shoreline of Ireland’s largest lake. Further North our Keekil Pier & Cong Tours allow us to explore the hundreds of islands & expanses of middle & North Lough Corrib* * weather permitting
We provide you with kayaks, paddles and kayaking equipment including comfortable Long John (sleeveless) wetsuits, buoyancy aid, spray deck & splashproof /windproof cagoule.
We ask paddlers to bring old footwear/wet shoes, tight leggings or shorts and thermal tops x 1-3 (depending on temperature) to wear underneath what we provide. A hat and water are also good to bring.
Generally speaking paddlers stay largely dry with some damp patches normal so having a change of clothes is good idea.
*We kindly urge all our customers to be aware that the paddling venues and tour schedules may change from the tour booked. This could be due to weather and/or logistical factors, the decision is at the discretion of the Kayak Guide. Changes to the customer’s booking will be communicated to them via text in advance of the tour.
